PROF. DR. FAYYAZ ALI MEMON


PROFILE

Dr. Fayyaz Ali Memon is Associate Professor in Water Engineering at University of Exeter, UK. He worked at Imperial College London for about 10 years on Sustainable Urban Water Management Systems. In the domain of sustainable water management, he heads a research group with focus on developing countries. Prof. Dr. Fayyaz research has been focused on alternative water resources, water demand management, technologies for water reuse, sustainable water management in developing countries, decision support systems and hydro informatics. He has over 130 publications to his credit, including over 45 papers in peer reviewed journals (with many in high impact factor journals including Water Research, Chemosphere and Global Environmental Change), over 50 in refereed international conferences, 11 book chapters and 9 co-edited books. Prof. Dr. Memon leads a research group on water management in developing countries, currently consists of 2 associate research fellows (post-docs) and 8 PhD students. Dr. Memon was invited as a guest speaker by several professional bodies: the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM), The Royal Institution of Public Health Engineers, Chartered Institution of Building Service Engineers, the British Hydrological Society, Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, Universities in Switzerland, Australia, China, Iran and Pakistan. He is an associate editor for the British Journal of Environment and Climate Change. He is a member of CIWEM, Chartered Environmentalist, and Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
